Brazilian flags and Brazilian national team jerseys dominate far-right demonstrations. Meanwhile, at left-wing demonstrations, there may be one or two Brazilian flags, but they are few and far between amid a diversity of flags of all colors.
However, some sectors of the left suggest that we should “reclaim” national symbols.
But were these symbols ever ours?
