On June 24, 2022, the Military Police of Mato Grosso do Sul, in so-called Brazil, together with paramilitary gunmen hired by ranchers, attacked Guarani Kaiowá Indigenous people who were taking back the Guapoy Indigenous land. At least two indigenous people were assassinated. Several were wounded.
