Throughout history, anarchists have always suffered persecution at the hands of the State. This is because the very idea of a world that is more free and based on solidarity—where the State’s coercive power is not only unnecessary but undesirable—is in itself a threat to those in power. And those who attempt to put these ideas into practice and stand up to state violence can be certain that they will attract the attention of the state’s repressive apparatus.
Monica Caballero and Francisco Solar are currently experiencing exactly this. They were abducted by the state on July 24, 2020. And now they face the risk of spending several years in a Chilean prison. Freedom for Monica and Francisco!
