While climate change is transforming the world into a more hostile place, with violent storms, extreme droughts, brutal waves of heat and cold, the Brazilian state remains obstinate in its colonialist and extractivist project. With the Lula government’s New Growth Acceleration Program (PAC), launched in 2023, it brings a new wave of high-impact infrastructure projects that feed and perpetuate a highly destructive collective way of life, threatening the diversity of ways of life and biomes.
This makes it clear beyond any doubt that left-wing and right-wing governments are two sides of the same coin. They are the managers of the genocidal and colonialist project called Brazil. There is no possibility of building fairer and freer worlds without confronting and resisting the repressive forces of the state or the militias that defend the same project.
